After three months of anticipation, our scout members finally joined and completed the Scout Bootcamp Series 2, held at Taman Pertanian Johor, Kong Kong. The boot camp, organized by the Malaysian Scouts Association District Pasir Gudang (PPMPG), is part of a three-series program designed to motivate aspiring scouts in the Pasir Gudang District and help them earn the necessary badges to achieve the Chief Commissioner’s Award, Chief Scout Award, and ultimately, the King’s Scout Award.
This time, with a focus on earning the Lencana Kemahiran and Lencana Kegiatan, 13 scout members from Sekolah Menengah Paragon (Kump 102) followed a packed schedule of activities. They learned and honed their skills in Kawad Tongkat, jungle cooking, camping, pioneering, orienteering, patrol leadership, and more. The highlight of the camp was when scouts from different schools collaborated to organize and perform Zapin, a traditional Malay dance, during Malam Pengakap.
It was encouraging to see our scout members endure the hardships of challenging camping conditions and complete the tasks given. We hope these scouts will continue embodying the scouting spirit in the future and lead our SMP scouts to excellence. Godspeed!
