18 students from Paragon International School proudly participated in ‘The Sunway University’s Next BIG Quest!’ on 27th July 2024.
At first, all our students were placed into teams of 5 members and then went through an exclusively curated adventure exposing them to the world of S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematical Sciences).
After this fantastic day, our students gained a fun learning experience about the various bodies of knowledge through fun challenges, quizzes and solving clues along the way! It’s impressive that one of the teams even won the Best Design award for Fashion Design Technology—what a fantastic achievement!
Here are some of their comments after the event:
“We are deeply grateful for this incredible honour and immensely thankful for the recognition. There were 15 activities for us to finish in 2 hours 30 minutes. It was a great experience and we learnt a lot! Thanks to the opportunities given by our teachers and Sunway University. “
– Best Design Winner, Year 10 students: Ong Sin Yi, Tang Jing Xuan, Bryanna Kerk Qian Ai and Toh Wen Tong
“The trip to Sunway was exquisite, the event was well planned as it aimed to teach students about their future careers and endeavours. We were tasked to partake in an event and finish it. All in all, it was a fun event.”
– Year 10 students: Tay Zuxiang, Aavinaas A/L Veerapan, Deaareen A/L Kumar, Froi Ethan Inocente Faune, Koh Jing Hong
“This trip was definitely a first for many of us. We spent the day running throughout the entire campus, exploring as we searched tirelessly for each unique event’s venue. We even got to argue our hearts out at one of those tasks while learning about the ways of directing and filmmaking. Another highlight event of the day occurred at the culinary studio where we successfully picked out 50g of carrots, on the dot, which was the exact amount we needed to pass and advance through our treasure hunt. Besides the inspiring speeches given, what truly made this trip special was the irreplaceable memories we made with our friends and teachers.”
– Year 10 students: Nicole Chan Yu En, Katelyn Tan Shi Tian, Koh Chen Hee and Low Qin Yin
“Though stepping into the university, oblivious of what we were to do, this trip was an unexpected yet an absolute blast. Our objective was to run around the faculty, exploring different subjects and different booths to finish the ‘Next Big Quest’, which helped us to discover the various types of subjects offered by Sunway, some of them even catching our eyes. Our group worked tirelessly around the facilities, and, in the end, was able to fully enjoy what Sunway University had offered us. If we get a chance to participate again, we will agree without any hesitation. We would like to thank all the teachers, Paragon International School and, of course, Sunway University for providing us with such precious memories.”
