PRIMARY CAMBRIDGE CURRICULUM

International Primary School (Year 1 to Year 6)

In the Primary School we encourage each child to continue their development and maintain the fun, active approach to learning after their early years education.

  • The majority of learning takes place in the nurturing environment of the classroom facilitated by the classroom teacher and assistant teachers for our Y1 and Y2 learners.
  • We incorporate the IPC thematic teaching approach and classroom-based learning for our Year 1 to Year 3 learners to provide a holistic education for your child.
  • Design, Technology, Home and Economics (DTHE) is then introduced to our Year 4 to Year 6 learners to support the shift towards designing and making.
  • English is taught daily with a strong emphasis on the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

By the end of primary level, learners will sit for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Assessment  that is designed to help students learn by providing comprehensive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses in the key curriculum areas – English, Mathematics and Science.

Cambridge programmes prepare students for life – helping them to develop an informed curiosity and lasting passion for learning.

Cambridge programmes help students to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged – helping them to tackle the demands of tomorrow’s world, capable of shaping a better world for the future with lasting passion for learning.

Cambridge wants each student to fulfil their potential and make the most of their strengths and interests. Cambridge design programmes – with the help of expert educators in schools and universities – to challenge students, and get them excited about what they’re learning. Students learn Cambridge IGCSE First Language English.

Our school encourages Cambridge learners to be:

  • Confident in working with information and ideas – their own and those of others
  • Responsible for themselves, responsive to and respectful of others
  • Reflective as learners, developing their ability to learn
  • Innovative and equipped for new and future challenges
  • Engaged intellectually and socially, ready to make a difference.
