Today, our history class took a courageous effort to try baking a French delicacy, βTarte aux Fraisesβ, a strawberry tart. The activity is related to a historical topic, the French Revolution. This hands-on activity was designed to help students connect with the historical and cultural context of 18th-century France in a fun and memorable way.
As they measured, mixed, and decorated their tarts, students began to realise that the History subject makes sense after all. This helped students to embrace the related idea as well: the French Revolution. Fun, laughter, and teamwork filled the culinary studio while the sweet taste of the berries filled the air, still lingering in their mouths and minds.
