The much-anticipated Bake a Pie Cooking Competition took place on a sunny afternoon, drawing enthusiastic bakers and pie lovers from Paragon International School students and teachers.
Hosted by DTHE team at culinary studio, the event showcased a delightful array of pies, from classic to innovative creations featuring diverse ingredients. The atmosphere was filled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked pies, music, mingling with the excited chatter of participants and spectators alike and a pie-tasting station where everyone could sample all the entries.
The competition attracted a diverse group of students to team up with a teacher ranging from secondary to primary students. Each participant brought their unique flair to the competition, presenting pies that were not only visually stunning but also tantalizing to the taste buds. Some of the standout entries included:
🥘Black Team (Pie in the sky): A savory dish featuring a rich filling of tender chicken pieces and earthy mushrooms, all enveloped in a creamy sauce.
🍎Blue Team (Classic Apple Pie): A traditional apple pie with a perfectly flaky crust and a hint of cinnamon.
🍫Yellow Team (Chocolate Strawberry Pie): A rich and decadent pie with layers of fresh strawberries and chocolate ganache.
🍓Green Team (Floral Fruit Fiesta Custard Pie) : A creative fusion of blueberries,strawberries and grapes topped with custard filling.
🥧Red Team (Chicken balti Pie): A savory pie that combines the vibrant flavors of a traditional Balti curry with the comfort of a pastry crust offering a delicious fusion of British and Indian cuisine.
🍠Purple Team (Taro Pie) : A vegan-friendly pie featuring a buttery, flaky crust filled with a creamy vibrant purple colour taro filling.
